Tim Daly, ‘Daly’s Bartenders’ Encyclopedia’ (1903). This is the earliest recorded version of a Tuxedo in a cocktail book and the original calls for Maple Gin. This version uses maple syrup and Plymouth Gin instead, and is an elegant Martinez alternative.

  • Step 1

    Freeze your Martini Glass

  • Step 2

    Fill mixing glass with ice

  • Step 3

    Add 25ml of Plymouth Original Gin, 25 ml of Dolin Dry Vermouth, 5ml of Maple Syrup, 3 Dashes of Maraschino Liqueur & 3 Dashes of Dry Orange Curacao

  • Step 4

    Stir well until chilled

  • Step 5

    Strain into your chilled glass

  • Garnish

    Lemon Twist & Maraschino Cherry
