YOU’RE NEVER TOO OLD TO MAKE WAVES

The sea is restless, but so are we. For 230 years we have been never stopped flowing, journeying, setting sail on every tide seeking the next adventure.

We distilled as the bombs fell through World War II, kept spirits high in 2020.
And now we are facing a new challenge, perhaps our greatest yet. Protecting the ocean and taking action.
Scanning the horizon, Plymouth Gin in hand in the hope of tomorrow.

We might be 230 years old, but you are never too old to make waves.

THE WONDER OF NATURE – SEAGRASS

We are proud to announce our partnership with the Ocean Conservation Trust to help safeguard one of the most precious habitats on our planet, the wonder that is seagrass:

Seagrass captures carbon 35 times faster than rainforests

Seagrass absorbs 10% of ocean carbon

40 times more marine life than in sea beds without seagrass

Seagrass cleans our ocean of polluting nutrients produced by humans

THE BLUE MEADOWS

We are supporting the protection and regeneration of 20 hectares of seagrass (that’s the size of 20 football pitches!) with a £1 donation to the Ocean Conservation Trust for every bottle of Plymouth gin sold in the UK

That will fund the laying of yellow buoys along the perimeter of the seagrass beds, indicating to those taking to the water, for work or play, that there’s “seagrass ahoy!”

So, if you see one of our yellow buoys, keep your speed down, turn that jet ski around, and for gin’s sake, don’t drop anchor!

CATCH OF THE DAY

The benefits to the environment speak for themselves. But there’s a more immediate benefit to locals and visitors alike – an abundance of fresh tasty fish. Because seagrass acts as a natural nursery to fish and crustaceans, allowing stocks to replenish and fishermen to sustainably improve their hauls.

So, when you buy a bottle and pour yourself a drink. You are able to help us save our seagrass.
