OUR GINS
PLYMOUTH GIN
The rich and smooth taste of Plymouth Gin is the result of a balanced blend of seven hand-selected botanicals.
the botanicals

JUNIPER BERRIES

If there are no Juniper Berries it’s not gin. Their essential oils provide an aroma of pine and a hint of bitterness on the palate.

CORIANDER SEED

Provides a balance to the gin with its citrus aromas, hint of sour and spice.

ORANGE PEELS

An eating orange from Spain brings a delicate sweetness to the gin’s aromatics.

LEMON PEELS

Adds a background note of fresh citrus.

ANGELICA ROOT

The highest percentage of essential oils out of any of our botanicals, it also adds a hint of menthol to the gin.

GREEN CARDAMOM

Brings the distinctive dry finish that English gins are deservedly famous for, along with a complex sweetness.

ORRIS ROOT

Along with a hint of violet, this natural preservative ensure every bottle we make retains its full flavour and aroma.

There are few gins as versatile and as well made as Plymouth Gin. It’s no wonder that they didn’t want to give away their recipe to preserve their GI protected status.
MASTEROFMALT
It’s had an enduring legacy and it’s hard to overestimate just how big a cornerstone Plymouth Navy Gin represents for the gin category today.
SPIRITSREVIEW
Winston Churchill was right in his choice of this gin. Subtle, smooth and easy-to-drink, it is a classic that does not cause palate fatigue like many of the overamped juniper London Dry’s out there.

The Refectory Bar (2004-Present day). Inspired by recipes of the Savoy Cocktail Book this recipe has been the house Martini of the bar since it was launched back in 2004. Designed to be a Martini with broad appeal; approachable and enticing whilst still being ‘serious’ enough for the seasoned Martini fan.

A desert lover’s Martini. Take a small spoonful of the ‘cheesecake’ to coat the palate then take a sip of the Martini, allowing it to wash across your palate and combine with rich creaminess. Not only does this produce a delicious combination but also cleans the palate ready to repeat the tasty process.

A California inspired smoky martini. A fifty-fifty recipe using this nutty, dried fruit, sherry based sweet vermouth, then given a hint of smoke by way of a splash of mezcal. This combination is lifted with a double citrus twist then finished with a sliced dried apricot that imparts a hint of fruit into the drink and is even more delicious to eat at the end once it has sat and soaked into the drink.

A simple, elderflower variation on the classic Gimlet. A pinch of salt helps the flavours ‘pop’ on the palate. Make the cordial separately, bottle and leave in the fridge for when the time is right to make one of these tasty little drinks! The name references the fact that lime cordial was taken every day to prevent scurvy and it is also the surname of Harriet, the manager of the Refectory Bar in the home of Plymouth Gin.
